Charlie’s Farm

Charlie’s Farm, 2014

There was some positive hype about this  Aussie slasher so I had been keen to check it out for some time. Monster Pictures were having a screening/DVD launch at Backlot Studios so I went along.

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t all that good, either. It was clear that it wasn’t going to be a serious movie, so I figured the deaths would all be over the top and gruesome. But, when they came, they were kinda plain and seemed very quick. There were a couple of cool ones (the tractor and skinny dipping scenes) but the on-screen gore was pretty minimal.

Once it was all over, I was kind of left wondering what the point of making the movie was. Like, it’s not like it was an awesome special effects showcase, but it was also pretty ordinary film-wise. So, I dunno… it was enjoyable though. 6/10 beans.
