Definitely my favourite Argento from what I’ve seen so far.
I’ve never seen this before, and was always put off by it being so old. And, I don’t like to dismiss movies purely on age, but it’s just that I knew it would be pretty tame and probably quite slow. But, it’s a classic and I’ve heard/read time and time again that it’s brilliant, so I finally put it on. And… pretty much as I expected. Yeah there were some pretty good bits, and keeping in mind the time in which this was made I’m sure it would have been terrifying, but it was just too boring for me. Ah well. Now that I’ve finally watched this, I can get around to re-visiting the real classics.
Dammit Ulli, why do you bother??
“Hey Jean-Claude, we want you to star in our new movie about a semi-cyborg soldier.”
“Yeah sure, what’s my character like?”
“Have you seen Terminator?”
“Like the Terminator.”
This was the second time I’ve seen this, but I haven’t got the first time on this site so I don’t know how long ago it was. Sometime between now and when I bought this in August 2009. It’s good, but not something I’d watch a third time, I don’t think.
